How to Use Glow Powder in Resin
- Mix your epoxy resin (Part A + Part B) thoroughly before adding pigment.
- Add luminous powder and stir well to fully disperse — use more powder for a stronger, brighter glow effect.
- Pour into your mold as normal. The glow powder will be visible as a matte or slightly colored finish in daylight.
- Once cured, charge the piece under sunlight, a UV lamp, or bright artificial light for 10–30 minutes.
- The piece will then glow in the dark for several hours.
- Glow powder can also be layered: pour a clear resin layer first, add a glow powder layer, then top with clear resin for a floating glow effect.
- Store bottles tightly closed away from moisture.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the glow last?
After a full charge of 10–30 minutes under bright light or UV, the glow will last several hours. The brightness fades gradually over time. Re-charging restores the glow fully.
What color does each powder glow?
Most luminous powders emit a yellow-green glow regardless of their daytime color, though some colors — such as blue and purple — glow in their approximate color family. The daytime pigment color and the glow color may differ.
Can I mix glow powder with mica pigment?
Yes — you can combine glow powder with mica pigments or resin dyes to add shimmer or depth to the daytime appearance while retaining the glow effect in the dark. Browse our Resin Pigments & Dyes for options to layer with.
Will glow powder work with UV resin?
Yes — mix the powder into UV resin before curing under your UV lamp. The glow effect will be present once the resin is fully cured.
How much powder do I need?
For a strong glow effect in resin, use approximately 10–20% powder by weight relative to your resin volume. More powder = brighter and longer-lasting glow. A 15g bottle is enough for multiple small jewelry pieces or a medium decorative pour.
