Unlike two-part epoxy resin, UV resin is a single-component formula — no Part A or Part B to combine. Just apply directly from the bottle, position your inclusions, and cure with UV light. Ideal for resin jewelry, bezels, charms, keychains, phone cases, and small decorative fills.

How to Use UV Resin
- Prepare your mold, bezel, or surface. Make sure it is clean and dry.
- Apply UV resin directly from the bottle into your mold or bezel. Use a toothpick to spread and position the resin.
- Add inclusions such as dried flowers, glitter, or mica powder as desired.
- Point the UV lamp pen at the resin surface and cure for 10–15 seconds. For thicker pours, cure in thin layers, pausing between each.
- For full clarity and hardness, follow up with a final 30–60 second cure pass.
- Alternatively, cure in direct sunlight for 2–5 minutes.
- The cured resin is hard, clear, and ready to use immediately after curing.
- Store UV resin bottles tightly capped and away from light and heat to prevent premature curing.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between UV resin and epoxy resin?
UV resin is a single-component formula that cures in seconds under UV light — no mixing required. It’s ideal for small detailed work, bezels, and layered inclusions where you want precise control. Epoxy resin is a two-part formula (A + B) that cures over hours at room temperature and is better suited for larger pours, molds, and casting. Browse our Epoxy & UV Resin Supplies to compare both options.
Can I add color to UV resin?
Yes — UV resin is compatible with mica powder pigments, alcohol inks, and resin dyes. Add a small amount after dispensing into your mold and stir gently before curing. Browse our Resin Pigments & Dyes for compatible colorants.
Can I cure UV resin without the lamp pen?
Yes — UV resin will cure in direct sunlight in approximately 2–5 minutes depending on the thickness of the layer and the intensity of sunlight. The UV lamp pen gives faster, more consistent results especially indoors or in overcast conditions.
Can I do layered pours with UV resin?
Yes — for layered pieces with inclusions (such as flowers or glitter), pour a thin base layer and cure fully, add your inclusions, then pour a top layer and cure again. Cure each layer before adding the next for best results.
What batteries does the lamp pen take?
The lamp pen is battery-powered. Battery type will be indicated on the product packaging. AAA batteries are commonly used for pen-style UV lamps.
