What’s Included

  • 12 beeswax sheets — 6 colors, 2 sheets per color
  • 12 cotton wicks — one per sheet
  • Each sheet: 20x20cm

About the Wax Blend

These sheets are made from a beeswax and microcrystalline wax blend. Pure beeswax sheets can be brittle and prone to cracking, particularly in cool temperatures. The addition of microcrystalline wax improves flexibility, reduces shrinkage, prevents surface bloom (white powdery oxidation), and increases fragrance retention. The result is a sheet that rolls more smoothly and holds its shape better than pure beeswax.

How to Roll a Beeswax Candle

If the sheets feel stiff or brittle (especially in cool weather), gently warm them with a hair dryer or heat gun on a low setting for a few seconds until pliable — do not overheat. Lay the wick along one edge of the sheet, leaving a small length of wick extending beyond the top. Fold the wax over the wick and press gently to seal. Roll the sheet firmly and evenly, keeping the roll tight and the edges aligned. Press the final edge down to seal. Trim the wick to 5–7mm before burning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any special equipment?
No — beeswax rolling candles require no melting, molds, or pouring equipment. The only tool you may need is a hair dryer or heat gun to warm stiff sheets in cool temperatures. A ruler and craft knife are helpful for cutting sheets into decorative shapes.

Why are my sheets cracking when I roll them?
Cracking is caused by the sheets being too cold and stiff. Gently warm the sheet with a hair dryer for a few seconds before rolling — the wax should feel slightly warm and flexible to the touch. In warm weather (above 24°C / 75°F), sheets are usually soft enough to roll without warming.

Can I combine colors in one candle?
Yes — beeswax sheets layer and adhere to each other easily. You can roll two different colors together for a striped effect, cut decorative shapes from one sheet and press them onto another, or roll a second sheet around an existing candle to add a new color layer.

How tall will the candle be?
A single 20x20cm sheet rolled tightly produces a candle approximately 20cm tall. The diameter depends on how tightly you roll and how many times you roll — a single sheet rolled once produces a thin taper; adding a second sheet around the first increases the diameter.

Are these safe to burn indoors?
Yes — beeswax is a natural wax that burns cleanly with minimal soot. Always burn on a heat-resistant surface, keep away from drafts, never leave unattended, and keep out of reach of children and pets. Trim the wick to 5–7mm before each burn.
