  • Base tab: metal sustainer tab pre-attached — sits flat on the base of the container to anchor the wick
  • Wax compatibility: soy wax, coconut wax, paraffin wax, beeswax, and blends
  • Best for: container candles in tins, glass jars, and ceramic pots

Choosing the Right Wick Size

ECO wicks are sized by number — a thicker wick produces a larger melt pool and is suited to wider diameter containers. As a general guide for soy wax container candles:

  • ECO 2–4: up to 2 inches (5cm) container diameter
  • ECO 4–6: 2–3 inches (5–7.5cm) container diameter
  • ECO 6–8: 3–4 inches (7.5–10cm) container diameter
  • ECO 10+: 4 inches (10cm) and above

Always test burn your candles before selling — wick size may vary depending on fragrance load, dye content, and wax blend.

How to Use

  1. Fix the metal tab to the base of your candle container using a wick sticker or a small dot of melted wax. Press firmly and allow to set.
  2. Pull the wick upright and center it using a wick centering bar or wooden stick rested across the top of the container.
  3. Pour your melted wax slowly around the wick. Do not disturb the wick while the wax sets.
  4. Once the wax has fully cooled (2–4 hours), remove the centering bar and trim the wick to 5–7mm (approximately ¼ inch) before the first burn.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these wicks suitable for beeswax or paraffin candles?
Yes — ECO wicks work well with most wax types. Beeswax and paraffin typically require a slightly larger wick size than soy wax for the same container diameter, so test burn before committing to a large production run.

Do I need to pre-wax these wicks before use?
No — these wicks come pre-waxed and ready to use. The wax coating stiffens the wick so it stands upright easily when positioning in your container.

What length should I cut the wick to?
Leave the wick long enough to extend 2–3cm above your container while pouring (to give you something to grip). Trim to 5–7mm after the wax has fully set and before the first burn. A wick that is too long will produce excess soot and a large, uncontrolled flame.
