Details

  • Tin material: tinplate metal, white exterior finish
  • Lid: natural wood slip-fit lid — clean, minimal aesthetic
  • Compatible with soy wax, coconut wax, paraffin wax, and beeswax
  • Wicks are pre-tabbed with a metal base — ready to place and pour
  • Wick sticks keep the wick centered while wax cools

How to Use

Press a wick sticker dot to the base of each tin, then press the metal wick tab firmly onto the sticker. Rest a wood centering stick across the tin rim and thread the wick through to keep it upright. Melt your wax, add fragrance at the recommended temperature, then pour slowly into the tin. Allow to cool fully (several hours), trim the wick to ¼ inch, and place the wood lid on to finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the tin dimensions and capacity?
Each tin is 5.2cm / 2.04in in diameter and 6.5cm / 2.55in tall. This holds approximately 4oz of wax per tin.

What wax works best in these tins?
Soy wax and coconut wax are popular choices for tin candles — both adhere well to metal, burn cleanly, and hold fragrance well. Paraffin and beeswax also work. A coconut-soy blend is a great option for a smooth, creamy finish with excellent scent throw.

How much fragrance oil should I add?
A typical fragrance load is 6–10% of the wax weight for soy or coconut wax. For example, if you pour 100g of wax, add 6–10g of fragrance oil. Add fragrance at around 185°F / 85°C and stir well before pouring.

Is this a good beginner kit?
Yes — the kit includes all the hardware needed to get started (jars, wicks, wick holders, and wick stickers). You just need wax and fragrance oil to complete your first pour.

Can I reuse the tins after the candle burns down?
Yes — once the candle is finished, remove residual wax by placing the tin briefly in a warm oven or pouring boiling water over the wax to loosen it. Clean with warm soapy water, then repour or repurpose for storage.
