What’s Included
- 100g soy wax flakes
- 2m cotton candle wick
- 30 × metal wick tabs (brads) for securing wicks to the base of containers
- 3 × wooden wick centering sticks (to keep the wick centered while the wax sets)
How to Use
- Thread a length of cotton wick through a metal wick tab and crimp the tab to secure it. Trim the wick to the height of your container plus 2–3cm.
- Fix the wick tab to the base of your candle container using a wick sticker or a small amount of melted wax. Center the wick using the wooden centering stick, resting it across the top of the container.
- Melt the soy wax flakes using a double-boiler or wax melting pot. Soy wax typically melts at 70–85°C. Monitor temperature with a thermometer if available.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool to approximately 65–70°C before adding fragrance oil if using. Stir gently.
- Pour slowly into your container. Leave to set at room temperature for 2–4 hours. Do not move until fully set.
- Once set, remove the centering stick and trim the wick to 5–7mm before the first burn.

Frequently Asked Questions
What containers can I use with this kit?
This kit is compatible with any heat-safe container — candle tins, glass jars, ceramic pots, or metal cups. The 100g of soy wax will fill approximately one 4oz (120ml) tin or two small tealight-sized containers.
Is fragrance oil included?
No — fragrance oil is not included. Add your own fragrance oil at approximately 65–70°C after removing from heat. A typical fragrance load for soy wax is 6–10% by weight of the wax (6–10g of fragrance oil per 100g of wax).
Do I need a heat source?
Yes — a heat source is not included. You can melt the wax using a double-boiler on a kitchen stove, or a wax melting pot or electric hot plate. See our Candle Making Kits with Hot Plate if you need a complete setup.
