How to Use
Stand the mold upright on a flat, heat-resistant surface. Thread a pre-waxed wick through the base wick hole and seal with mold sealer putty, or use a wick pin to create the wick channel after demolding. Pour melted pillar wax at the appropriate temperature for your wax type (60–68°C / 140–155°F for paraffin pillar; 55–60°C / 131–140°F for beeswax). Allow to cool fully at room temperature. Top up any sinkholes. Once set, peel the silicone away from the candle. Trim the wick to 5–7mm before burning.
Frequently Asked Questions
What wax gives the best surface detail?
Hard paraffin pillar wax and beeswax both reproduce deep surface relief very sharply. For the intricate branch, face, and spiral textures in these molds, beeswax in a warm ivory or gold tone produces particularly impressive results. Soy pillar blends work but may show slightly softer edges on the finest details.
Can I add color to suit the celestial aesthetic?
Yes — deep midnight blue, forest green, charcoal black, warm gold, and ivory all work beautifully with these designs. Adding gold mica powder or shimmer dust to the exterior of the finished candle further highlights the surface relief.
How much wax do I need per mold?
Approximate quantities: Celestial Hands Sun Cylinder — ~230g; Tree of Life Hexagon — ~250g; Moon Tree Large — ~175g; Moon Tree Small — ~80g; Sun & Moon Cylinder — ~130g; Sun & Moon Face Cylinder — ~110g; Sun Face Sphere — ~60g; Sun & Moon Squat Cylinder — ~120g. Always melt slightly more than needed for top-up pours.
Can I add fragrance?
Yes — add fragrance oil at 6–8% by weight for pillar wax. Keep to the lower end (6%) for molds with very fine surface detail to avoid surface sweating that can blur fine features.
Can I use these molds for soap or resin?
Yes — all molds in this range work for cold-process soap, melt-and-pour soap, and resin casting. The deep celestial relief translates exceptionally well in resin, particularly when finished with gold or silver leaf.
