What is a PET Sealing Film Shaker Mold?

This type of shaker mold uses a transparent PET film sheet as the front face of the pendant, rather than a second layer of poured resin. The mold has a central divider that creates two open chambers. The process:

Place the PET sealing film over the mold opening, pressing it firmly against the silicone to create a flat, transparent front surface.
Flip the mold over so the PET film faces downward.
Pour a thin layer of resin into the now-exposed back of the mold and cure — this bonds the film in place and forms the back of the pendant.
Once cured, remove the PET film side from the mold. Add your chosen fillers (glitter, sequins, micro beads) into the open cavity.
Seal the cavity with a second thin layer of resin and cure fully to close the shaker.
Demold and finish with a bail or jump ring.

The PET film creates a smooth, perfectly flat, crystal-clear front window — fillers are clearly visible and move freely inside the sealed cavity.

Tips for Best Results

Press the PET film firmly and evenly against the mold before pouring — any gaps will allow resin to seep under the film.
Use crystal-clear resin for maximum visibility through the PET film window.
Keep fillers small and lightweight so they move freely inside the sealed cavity.
Allow each resin layer to cure fully before adding fillers or pouring the seal layer.
Clean the silicone mold with warm soapy water after each use. Do not use sharp tools on the mold surface.

How Does This Differ from Standard Shaker Molds?

Standard two-pour shaker molds create both the front and back of the pendant entirely from resin. These PET film molds use the transparent film sheet as the front face, which gives a perfectly flat, optically clear window and can be faster to work with for experienced makers. Both methods produce a sealed hollow shaker pendant.
