How to Use
Attach the metal sustainer tab to the inside base of your container using a wick sticker or a small dab of hot wax. Thread the wick through one of the holes in a wooden centering stick and rest the stick across the top of the container to hold the wick upright and centered. Pour your melted wax slowly and allow to cool fully without moving. Trim the wick to 5–7mm before lighting.
Frequently Asked Questions
What container size is 12cm right for?
The 12cm wick suits containers with a wax depth of approximately 8–12cm. For shallower containers, a shorter wick (6cm or 8cm) is a better fit. You can also trim a longer wick down — always leave at least 1–2cm above the wax surface before trimming to final height after pouring.
Are these wicks pre-waxed?
Yes — these wicks are pre-waxed, which means the cotton has been coated in wax during manufacturing. This makes them stiffer (easier to work with), helps them light more reliably on the first burn, and reduces the chance of the wick bending or falling over before the wax sets.
What are the wooden sticks for?
The 5 included wooden centering sticks lay across the top of your container. Thread the wick through the hole to hold it straight and centered while the wax cools. One stick can be reused across multiple pours.
Do these wicks produce smoke?
Cotton wicks produce very little smoke when properly trimmed and used with a clean-burning wax. Always trim the wick to 5–7mm before each burn and avoid burning in a draft, which can cause uneven flames and excess smoke.
Are these suitable for soy wax?
Yes — these pre-waxed cotton wicks work well with soy wax, paraffin, beeswax, and coconut wax. Wick sizing depends on your container diameter, not just length — if you find the melt pool is too small or too large, adjust wick thickness in your next batch.
