Details

  • Material: food-grade silicone — flexible, non-stick, easy to demold
  • Resin compatibility: epoxy resin (recommended) and UV resin
  • Finish: high-gloss inner surface for a clear, polished cast with crisp feather and wing detail
  • Reusable: yes — clean after each use and store flat away from direct sunlight

How to Use

  1. Mix your epoxy resin according to the manufacturer’s instructions. These are moderately deep pours — use a slow-cure casting resin or pour in layers if using a standard laminating epoxy.
  2. Add pigment, mica powder, dried flowers, or other inclusions. For a botanical effect, arrange dried flower heads and petals in the mold before pouring.
  3. Pour slowly to fill all the detailed feather and neck curves. Use a toothpick to guide resin into fine details and remove trapped air bubbles. Follow with a heat gun or torch to remove surface bubbles.
  4. Cover and cure on a level surface — typically 24–48 hours for epoxy resin.
  5. Demold by gently peeling back the silicone. Sand the base flat if needed for stable display.
  6. Display the two swans facing each other so their necks form a heart shape.

Design Ideas

  • Botanical swans: embed dried roses, baby’s breath, or pressed petals in the resin body for a romantic display piece — especially striking in teal, blush, or white
  • Pure white: white opaque resin with pearl mica for a classic porcelain-style sculpture
  • Marble effect: white base with grey and gold veining for a luxury home décor look
  • Galaxy: dark base with silver and holographic glitter for a dramatic, modern aesthetic
  • Wedding or anniversary gift: cast in the recipient’s favorite colors with a personal touch such as a pressed flower from a bouquet

Frequently Asked Questions

Do both swans need to be cast in the same resin pour?
No — each mold is cast separately. You can cast them at the same time using two batches, or cast them separately. For a matching pair, use the same resin mix and pigment ratio for both to ensure consistent color and finish.

Can I use UV resin in these molds?
The molds are compatible with UV resin, but at 2.8–3cm deep, UV lamps may not penetrate fully for a complete cure. Epoxy resin is recommended. UV resin can be used for thin decorative surface layers or top coats after the epoxy base has cured.

How do I get the botanical inclusion effect shown in the images?
Arrange your dried flowers face-down in the mold before pouring. Pour a thin first layer of clear resin over the flowers and allow to partially gel (not fully cure), then pour the remaining resin to fill the mold. This suspends the flowers just below the surface for a clean, visible look.
